Nancy Robertson Harvey went home to Christ on Friday, September 28, 2012. Nancy was born July 9, 1942 in Pascagoula, MS where her and her three sisters were raised. Nancy met John Harvey when she was attending Mississippi College, and he was attending Mississippi State. They were married September 21, 1963. John and Nancy moved to Russellville, AL in 1972 due to John’s work with Mississippi Chemical and have lived in the same home they built together for 39 years. She was a devoted, faithful and loving wife. Nancy was a homemaker which allowed her to focus on her two girls, her home, her church, and her volunteer work. Nancy was an avid genealogist where she served on the board of the Natchez Trace Genealogy Society for many years. She will be remembered for her sense of humor, her compassion and her ability to never meet a stranger. Nancy was a believer in Christ and lived her life in such a way that her faith was evident in all she did. She was preceded in death by her parents Roscoe and Bessie Robertson, sister, Barbara R. Danley and two brothers. She leaves on this Earth her husband of 49 years, John Harvey; her oldest daughter, Beth (Harvey) Uptagrafft and son-in-law Wendell; her youngest daughter, Judi (Harvey) Fike and son-in-law Brent; one grandchild, John Fike and one adopted grandchild, Kelli Badgett; her oldest sister Pat R. Calendar; and her youngest sister Linda R. Murray. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff and the patient support staff of the 3rd floor of Helen Keller Hospital and the 4th floor of Huntsville Hospital. Also, thank you to Dr. Yordy, Dr. Syed, Dr. Shah, Dr. Wellbourn, and Dr. Hachem. Her illness was very unusual and difficult to diagnose but these gentlemen earnestly found the cause and treated her with the best of their abilities. Also, thank you to all of our friends and church family that have prayed, shared memories and visited. Visitation will be 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Monday, October 01, 2012 at Spry Memorial Chapel, Russellville. Funeral services will be follow at 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be Bro. Richard Parker.
