Lelon Clay Oliver, Jr. – Obituary

Lelon Clay Oliver, Jr., 65, of Lacey’s Spring, passed away Saturday at his home.     He loved woodworking and music.  Mr. Oliver spent 35 years at the UAH Salmon Library, retiring in 2015 as Director of User Services.  In his spare time, he built the house he and his family lived in, until the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lelon and Pauline Oliver and sister, Claudia Wilbanks.

Survivors include wife, Colleen Oliver; son, Ian Oliver (Colleen) of Trussville; daughter, Bailey Adamson (Jonas) of Huntsville; grandchildren, Sam and Charles Oliver and Rex and Patrick Adamson; sisters, Paula Mann (Jerry) and Lodusky Cone, all of Hanceville; and brother, Alexander Oliver of Huntsville.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2018 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Father Phil O’Kennedy officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hirshberg Foundation (Pancreatic.org) for pancreatic cancer research.
