Two-Car Accident In Florence With Injuries

FLORENCE-The Florence Police Department report a traffic accident on Saturday, December 30 involving two vehicles.  The accident resulted in two persons being injured and transported to hospital:

“This afternoon, Saturday,December 30 Florence Police & Fire, Shoals Ambulance, and Air Evac responded to a traffic accident with injuries on North Wood Ave and Cox Creek Parkway.

Two vehicles collided causing one of them to go off of a 25-foot-high storm culvert. The vehicle landed upside down in about two feet of water. Motorist that witness the accident aided the driver by turning the car right side up. Once the male driver was freed from the car he was transported to Huntsville hospital by Air Evac. The female driving the second vehicle was transported to ECM by Shoals Ambulance.

The accident is still under investigation and the status of both drivers is unknown at this time. There were no other passengers in the vehicles involved.

We would like to thank all the citizens that helped in aiding the drivers of both vehicles.”
