Michael R. “Mike” Hayes – Obituary

Michael R. “Mike” Hayes, 62 of Arab, went home to be with the Lord on Friday December 1, 2017.
Mr. Hayes was born October 26, 1955 in Marshall County to Marvin Radford Hayes and Mary Elizabeth Evans Hayes. He was a 1974 graduate of Arab High School and employed by Micor Industries in Decatur as a Mechanical Engineer. Mr. Hayes was married to the former Regina Ridgeway for 41 years. He loved Auburn Football and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mike loved his grandson’s and you could always find him at the ballgame cheering them on. “Pa” will be greatly missed by many, especially his grandson’s. He loved to have fun and was quiet a comedian.
Mr. Hayes was a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife: Regina Ridgeway Hayes; his daughters: Nichole Hayes Shaw and Ashleigh Hayes; his grandson’s Tristin Shaw and Landon Shaw; his mother: Elizabeth Hayes; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mack Ennis, Michael Ridgeway and Debbie and Bruce Ridgeway and Susan and his niece and nephew: Shannon Ennis and Zac Cooley. He was preceded in death by his father: Marvin Radford Hayes and his sister: Debbie Hayes Ennis.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday December 3, 2017 at Sweet Home Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Lynch, officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Tim Nabors, Darrell Sweat, Charlie Conner, Jack Campbell, Gary Serrett, Mitch Mason, Alton Lamons, Mack Ennis, Tristin Shaw and Landon Shaw.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Sunday December 3, 2017 at Sweet Home Baptist Church prior to the service.
