Larry H. Sherrill, 72, passed away at Helen Keller Hospital, Sheffield, Alabama, on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017. A native of Kentucky, he had lived in Franklin County all of his life. Retired from Reynolds in 1999 and from Wise in 2007, he was a member of First Baptist Church, Russellville. He was a member of the Russellville unit of the Army National Guard.
Visitation for Mr. Sherrill will be Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, from 1 until 3 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. Funeral services will follow at 3 p.m. with Jerome Sherrill officiating. Burial will be at Ramsey Cemetery, Russellville. Pallbearers will include Nick Ahmed, Mike Sherrill, Dr. Alan Sherrill, Caleb Sherrill, David Sherrill, and Brett Fish. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Nix, Larry Staten, Terry Bolton, Billy King, and Billy Robinson.
Mr. Sherrill is survived by his spouse, Marilyn Seal Sherrill; children, Lawanda Sherrill, Greg Sherrill, Michael Fish (Mellisa), Stephanie Oliver (Chad), and Bethany Marsh (Matthew); brothers, Jerome Sherrill (Yvonne), Stanley Sherrill (Annette), Roger Sherrill, and Jerry Sherrill; sisters, Debbie S. Cheatwood (Don), Sherry Daniel, and Terry Worsham; grandchildren, Tyler Sherrill, Brett Fish (Jordan), Michaela Fish, Alayna Grace Fish, Abby Oliver, Ally Oliver, Anna Beth Oliver, Addie Marsh, and Aiden Marsh. In addition, he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Charlie and Minnie Sherrill; father, Hewitt Sherrill; and stepmother, Daisy Sherrill; sisters, Phyllis Sherrill Darnell and Connie Sherrill Hyatt; and two brothers, Odell Sherrill and Bo Sherrill.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the RHS HOSA Relay for Life Team at relayforlife/franklinal.
