Amanda Susan Vernon – Obituary

Amanda Susan Vernon, 57, of Huntsville, passed from this life on Sept. 11, 2017. Amanda was born March 9, 1960, in Decatur, the daughter of James Lois and Dora Jean Vernon. She graduated from Decatur High School, studied at the University of Alabama, and went on to earn a degree in paralegal studies from Athens State University. Amanda worked for several law firms in the Huntsville area, culminating in an 18-year career at Siniard, Timberlake and League in Huntsville.

Survivors include her mother, Dora Jean Vernon, of Decatur; sisters, Pam O’Donnell (Tom), of Huntsville, and Jamie Johnson, of Decatur; nephews, James O’Donnell, Michael O’Donnell (Shanna), Stephen O’Donnell and Trent Johnson (Ashleigh); niece, Sarah Patterson (Ben); as well as seven grand nieces and nephews.

Amanda leaves behind a lifetime of inspiration to all who knew her for her tenacity to overcome numerous health obstacles, and maintain a positive outlook on life, as well as, a reverent thankfulness to the Lord for His bountiful blessings for each and every treasured day. Amanda enjoyed the fellowship and spiritual growth she received from her membership at Big Cove Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Big Cove Presbyterian Church in Brownsboro with a memorial service to follow at the church. (www.laughlinservice.com)

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greater Huntsville Humane Society or Big Cove Presbyterian Church.
