Ellis Dexter Pounders – Obituary

Ellis Dexter Pounders, 81, passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the Shearer Richardson Nursing Home in Okolona. He was born March 14, 1936, in Tishomingo County to Ellis Breatis and Claudie Mae Pharr Pounders. He was a farmer and carpenter.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, June 19, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. David Webb and Bro. Eulon Pruitt officiating.  Burial will be in the Belmont City Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is entrusted with arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of almost 40 years, Sharon Pounders; one son, Brian Pounders of Golden; one daughter, Anna Goldsby (Aaron) of Dunkirk, MD; two sisters, Laverne Cornelius of Tishomingo and Elwanda Gentle (James) of Belmont; three grandchildren, Nikolas Brian Pounders, Amberlee Goldsby, and Brenley Goldsby.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 18, and from noon until service time Monday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
