Joel D. Nixon, age 81, Hamilton, AL passed away Thursday, March 09, 2017 at his residence. He was born in Marion County Alabama on Friday, May 03, 1935 to Leanord and Eva Dale Nixon. Visitation will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Marion County Funeral Home. The service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2017 at Hamilton Church of Christ with Truitt Allison and Ted Burleson officiating. Burial will be at Hamilton Memory Gardens. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leanord and Eva Dale Nixon and four infant siblings. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife, Doris Nixon; daughter, Sandy Cook (husband, Sonny); son, Tim Nixon (wife, Loretta); grandchildren, Shane Cook, Chase Cook, Kody Nixon, Kyle Nixon; great-grandchild, Colton Cook; siblings, Eva Carol Sartain, Margie Mays, Gennetta Cason, Jet Jewel, Hayward Nixon; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
