Ever been over the new Singing River Bridge? You’ll probably get a chance tomorrow!

THE SHOALS – Florence and Sheffield Police Departments are preparing to assist Alabama State Troopers when O’Neal Bridge is closed to traffic from McFarland Park Saturday night after the fireworks show. As anybody will tell you, O’Neal Bridge is undergoing a major refurbishment project this Summer. Traffic, to say the least, has been a little messed up.

So authorities are taking a proactive approach to the hundreds and hundreds of vehicles that will try to leave McFarland at one time, once the aerial display is concluded. If you’re going to be at the park, just watch for the signs that will direct traffic headed to the Sheffield side of the river. Pay attention, and it won’t be a big deal.
