Charlene Virginia Bates, 79, of Iuka, Mississippi, passed away Monday, June 22, 2015, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born on January 14, 1936 to the late Eldridge and Velma “Keele” Rhodes. She graduated from Northeast Community College and was a floral designer for various florists in the area.. She was the church pianist for 27 years at Harper Road Christian Church. Visitation is scheduled for 5 until 8 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 and from 2 PM until service time on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Magnolia Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 PM on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, officiated by Bro. Mickey Trammel. Interment will follow in Farmington Baptist Church Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements. Survivors include a son: David Wesley Bates and wife Susan of Burnsville, MS; a granddaughter: Addison Claire Bates; her brothers: Roy Gene Rhodes and wife Nita of Corinth, MS, Jerald Dean Rhodes and wife Janice of Michie, TN and Eugene Rhodes and wife Shirley of Corinth, MS; her sisters: Mavine Rowsey and husband Joseph of Michie, TN and Lorene Sherman and husband Ross of Wiggins, MS; a sister-in-law: Sue Rhodes of Hamilton, MS; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: Eldridge and Velma Keele Rhodes and a brother: Ardean Rhodes.
