Johnny-J-G-Winn-1427987580Johnny “J.G.” George Winn, age 87, passed away on Thursday, April 02, 2015 at his residence in Columbia, Tennessee.

J.G. was born on April 3, 1927 in Columbia, Tennessee to the late Willie Winn and the late Ruby Watson Winn. He married Edna Stewart and shared a wonderful life together until her passing. He was the owner of Johnny’s Cab Service in Columbia for thirty-one years and the owner of Johnny’s Café in Columbia for ten years. J.G. was of the Baptist faith.

The family will visit with friends on Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.

J.G. is survived by his daughters Johnnie Sue (Kelsie) North, Sherry (Norvel) Wilbanks, Juanita (John) Park, Cheryl (the late Roy) White, Sheron (Arnold) Francis, and Reda Mills; sons Tommy (Lyn) Winn, Mark (Valerie) Winn, and Johnny W. Winn; grandchildren Angie North, Elvis Wells, Chad Wells, Sherry Estes, Norvel G. Wilbanks, Sean Winn, Nicki Winn, Brandon (Jennifer) Park, Dustin (Shannon) Winn, Michelle Winn, Brittany (Adrian) Slick, Rhonda Pitts, Derrick Hay, and Ashley Mills; great grandchildren Austin Wells, Bryten Wells, Emily N. Wells, Michael Estes, Hunter Estes, Savannah Wilbanks, Sidney Wilbanks, Carissa Wilbanks, Piper Wilbanks, Isiah Brewer, Dylan Barnes, Shelby Barnes, Cole Park, Kaylee Park, Paul Moore, Tyler Wessner, Faith Fowler, Logan Blade, Alaia Pitts, Ashton Pitts, Aaden Tomlin, Emily Hay, and Kennedy Hay; sisters JoAnn (the late Doyle) Lane and Eva (Vernon) Pruitt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

J.G. was preceded in death by his daughter Rhonda K. Winn; great grandchildren Nevaeh Slick and Anastasia Belle Andrews; and brothers Thomas Boyd (Mary) Winn and William Earl (the late Linda Jean) Winn.

Pallbearers will be John Mayes, Jason Brown, Tommy Winn, Terry Hay, David Andrews, and Derrick Hay.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Mills and Adam Mills.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Children’s Hospital at TriStar Centennial.
