MONTGOMERY — The Alabama Farmers Federation is urging members to help re-elect State Rep. Johnny Mack Morrow, D-Red Bay, and State Sen. Roger Bedford, D-Russellville, Nov. 4, noting their strong voting records on issues affecting hunters and landowners.
“Rep. Morrow and Sen. Bedford are among the most pro-landowner legislators in Alabama,” said Federation Executive Director Paul Pinyan. “Their work to protect private property rights, strengthen hunting and fishing opportunities and expand outdoor tourism have benefitted farmers and rural communities. We appreciate their leadership on these issues and look forward to working with them another four years.”
The Federation’s political action committee, FarmPAC, endorsed Morrow and Bedford earlier this year.
Both Morrow and Bedford are avid outdoorsmen and have sponsored or supported bills to protect the rights of gun owners and provide critical
funding for the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
Morrow and Bedford are among only four candidates for the Alabama Legislature to receive an A+ rating from the National Rifle Association. All four are endorsed by the Federation.
“The Federation’s member-developed policy strongly supports Second Amendment rights,” Pinyan said. “Many of our members enjoy hunting and own firearms for both recreation and protection. It is not surprising candidates we endorse would also receive high marks from the NRA.”
Morrow is seeking re-election for state representative from District 18 in Colbert and Franklin counties. Bedford is running for re-election for Senate District 6, which includes portions of Colbert, Fayette, Franklin, Lamar, Lawrence, Marion and Winston counties.
