DECATUR–The Decatur Police Department conducted an investigation into the possibility of Synthetic Cannabinoids being sold at an apartment in Decatur.  Here is how they describe the events leading up to the arrest of Lamar Stevenson:

SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:

“During the month of June 2014, Investigators with the Decatur Police Department’s Organized Crime Unit received complaints of Synthetic Cannabinoids  (Spice) being sold from 1626 Beech Street apartment # 2. Investigators began an investigation and were able to obtain a search warrant for the residence.

On June 25, 2014, Investigators with the Decatur Police Department’s Special Operations Division executed the narcotics search warrant at 1626 Beech Street apartment #2. When investigators made entry into the residence, they made contact with Lamar Stevenson. Investigators also made contact with several small children.

Investigators began searching the residence and located a large quantity of Spice and U.S. currency.

Stevenson was arrested for Trafficking in Controlled Substance Analogs. Stevenson was currently out on bond for felony charges that stemmed from a narcotics search warrant that occurred at his residence two months ago. The U. S. currency was seized pending condemnation proceedings.

Stevenson was transported to the Decatur City Jail where he was processed in.
Investigator Kirk Arrington made contact with Circuit Court Judge Howell. Judge Howell set Stevenson’s bond amount for $10,000.00 cash. Stevenson will later be transported to the Morgan County Jail. Investigators are seeking to have Stevenson’s bond revoked.”
