FLORENCE – Nowadays the hard-working folks of Florence-Lauderdale Tourism can be found with their arms full of boxes of brochures, computer printers or some other bit of office accoutrement. Some might liken their effort as though mobilizing for Iwo Jima. But it’s really not that intense… Until you head over to the beautiful new facility in McFarland Park to take a look at the place and you observe the frenetic pace of things.
Now, for our readers who seemingly can’t wait to get over there and check out the place, you’re going to have to wait just a few more days. The Headquarters opens to the public next Monday.
The Quad-Cities Daily got over there Tuesday morning. There they were… Debbie Wilson, and Alison Stanfield… Georgia Carter seemed to be moving pretty fast around the place… Suzie Shoemaker too. They were focused. Moving boxes here and there. Computers and brochures… It was a madhouse. But it was a fun madhouse. And from the looks of things, this facility is going to be a knockout!
