Charles Ray “Pete” Nix – Obituary

Funeral service for Charles Ray “Pete” Nix, 54, of Trinity, will be Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors Marty and Angela Baldwin officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Garden. Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home.

Mr. Nix who died on July 27, 2013, at his residence, was born on November 2, 1958, in Decatur, to Elsie Floria Thrasher Nix and the late Arthur Brooks Nix.

Pete had a strong love for family and friends. No one he met ever left a stranger. He was a devoted husband, father, and Paw-Paw. He was also a faithful friend and positive mentor. He had a love for the outdoors, the beauty of nature, and the adventures of hunting and fishing. Pete’s humble generosity was bestowed on many. He actively sought out each day to find and assist those in need. He volunteered much of his time, heart, and resources to Kierra’s Hope and to the community. He attended Lifepointe Church and had faith in Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Ann Nix; son, Charles Bradley; daughters, Heather Cape Mason and Candace Cape Fuller; mother, Elsie Floria Thrasher Nix; Honorary fathers, Otis Martin and Marshall Goode; brother, Deneal Goode; sisters, Linda Rutherford and Angela Baldwin; and grandchildren, Haley Mason, Maddie Mason, Emily Mason, Cademon Fuller, and Evelyn Fuller.

Pallbearers will be Edwin Kirby, Donald Rutherford, Stanley McClusky, Stevie McClusky, Mikey McClusky, and Mark Reed.
