FLORENCE – He is still on the run. Florence Police Department Detectives have asked the public not to engage the suspect in Monday’s armed robbery of the Helton Boulevard Sonic Drive Inn. The man, a black male; 150 pounds, is carrying a shotgun with a pistol grip.
The robbery took place early Monday morning at about 1:00 in the morning. Security cameras show the robber holding the weapon to an employee’s head as he demanded money from the cash drawer.

“Sonic on Helton. BOLO suspect; black male, 6-00/ 150 lbs wearing grey hoodie. CAUTION; suspect armed with long gun. Any info contact police at 256-768-2728 or txt “FPDTIPS” plus message to “CRIMES”.”
