LIMESTONE COUNTY-On April 1 of this year Limestone County Sheriff Mike Blakely postponed the 38th Annual Limestone County Sheriff’s Rodeo until June due to the COVID-19 pandemic. the rodeo did not go off as they had hoped due to the continuing pandemic.
As of Monday, July 6 the rodeo has been rescheduled for August 21-22 at the Limestone Sheriff’s Rodeo Arena. There will be the observance of proper social distancing and sanitation stations will be provided and masks are encouraged by rodeo officials.
Here is the latest statement from the Limestone County sheriff’s Department regarding the rodeo event:
“The 38th Annual Limestone Sheriff’s Rodeo is postponed until further notice due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the uncertainty remaining about how and when public events will be safe to hold, we have decided to postpone the rodeo indefinitely but remain hopeful that such events may be possible later in the year.”
