ZIP CITY – It was a fine day for tasting chili, getting in some sun and seeing your friends at the Volunteer Fire Department’s annual Chili Contest. The Quad-Cities Daily was there to take EVENT PHOTOS and sample the chili. Everybody was having a big time throwing horseshoes, trying their luck at the dunk-tank and listening to some home-grown music…
Well, the winners of the contest were Terry and Kim Wicker. They were voted by the judges to be the best all-around chili. In addition, Travis Harrison won the People’s Choice. And these cookers are headed now to Huntsville on October 29 to participate in the Mercury Rising Chili Contest. Congratulations!
