Zane Preston WellsZane Preston Wells, age 56, husband of Sharon White Wells, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022, at his residence.

 

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 4:00 at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points and Ricky Cotton officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Grace in Maury Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Tennessee National Guard. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, 2022, from 2:00 – 6:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

Born on May 19, 1966, in Columbia, Zane was the son of the late Owen Smith Wells and the late Arlene Jones Wells. He served his country in the Tennessee National Guard and drove a dump truck for many years. He loved the Lord and was a devoted Christian and a member of the Baptist faith. He loved music and previously served as a church choir director. Zane loved life and was always the life of the party. He enjoyed spontaneous vacations and making memories with his family and friends. He was a kind and good man who would help anyone and never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

 

In addition to his wife, Sharon, of twenty-five years, he is survived by his daughter, Courtney Wells (Robert Thompson) of Columbia, stepchildren, Jessica Johnston of Columbia, Quade Lunn of Columbia, brothers, Bill (Elaine) Wells of Columbia, Doug (Diane) Wells of Columbia, Rex Wells of Columbia, sister, Penny (Mike) Orr of Columbia, grandchildren, Sam Austin Johnston, Cecil Alex Greer, Faith Lunn, and Skylinn Davis, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Pallbearers will be Tracy Jones, Ricky Patterson, Wayne King, Jason Sealey, Steven Wells, Bubba Potts, and Ronnie Dixon. Honorary pallbearers will include Mike Floyd, James Adams, and the late Jeff Young.
