Zaddie Maude Spinks Johnson, Gadsden – Zaddie “The Welder” Johnson, 2018 Patriot’s Hall of Honor inductee, was called home to Heaven in the early hours of March 16, 2022 at the age of 104. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roosevelt (Ted) Johnson; her parents, John Henry Spinks and Kitty Lou Morgan; her sisters, Mary Ruple; Bessie Satterfield; Willie Lumpkin; Johnnie Ashley; her brothers, Jack Spinks (infant); Carson Spinks (infant); her son-in-law, Arthur Payne. She is survived by her son, Ted (Marie) Johnson; her daughter, Barbara Payne; her brother, James (Claudette) Spinks; her sister, Margaret Spinks; her grandchildren, Zack (Cassandra) Johnson; Gregory (Mary) Johnson; Pam (John) Kangelos; Jeff Johnson; Donna (Kevin) Wilson; Christopher Payne; her great-grandchildren, Karlie Johnson; Kody Johnson; Kelsey Lee; Katie Johnson; Candice (Josh) Nix; Caitlin (Adam) Roberts; Aury (Sarah) Kangelos; Erin (Keith) Mayben; Ashley Stanfill; Logan Laird; Kevin Wilson; and five great-great children. Great love and affection are extended to adopted children (and Phase 10 buddies), Wayne and Phyllis Lee. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18th from 12-2pm at Collier Butler Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Hokes Bluff Cemetery at 3pm. Rev. Gary Hare will officiate. Pallbearers will be Christopher Payne, Gregory Johnson, Jeff Johnson, John Kangelos, Logan Laird, and Zack Johnson. Many thanks to her friends at Golden Rod Baptist Church. Her Christian faith was her rock. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Golden Rod Baptist Church or Tidmore Bend Fire Dept.
