Zachery Paul Hughes, 42, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at his home in Sherman. He was born May 28, 1982 to the late Douglas Paul Hughes and Clara Mae Credille Hughes. With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Zach, whose infectious spirit lit up every room he entered. Known for his boundless energy and smile, Zach was the epitome of fun, always the life of the party and eager to dance. His love for dressing up, especially in his beloved Reno 911 outfit with shorty shorts, brought laughter and joy to those around him. Despite his playful antics, spelling was never his forte, as he fondly insisted it’s “Zachery with ery , not Zachary, ary”. Living firmly in the 2000s, he cherished his rock revival jeans, affliction shirts, and flip flops, and had a passion for hot rod cars and motorcycles. Growing up, he shared cherished moments with his siblings and his father, whether fixing race cars or casting lines at the waterway, even if fishing eluded him. The beach held a special place in his heart, where he found happiness. Zach’s life was marked by a vast circle of friends, but none held a more cherished place than Summer, his best friend and co-parent of their beloved Cole, whom he adored beyond measure alongside Jaxon and his grandson Carter. A self-proclaimed momma’s boy, Zach’s unconditional love for his boys defined him, making his memory a cherished legacy of love and laughter.
