Yvonne Pickett Sherbert age 77 of Athens passed away Friday July 3, 2015 at her residence. She was born August 24, 1937 in Giles County Tennessee to William Leslie Pickett and Bessie Lee Hendrix Pickett.
Services will be Tuesday July 7, 2015 at 2:30PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday July 7, 2015 from 12:00PM until 2:15PM at the funeral home. Don Osborne will be officiating.
She is preceded in death by her parents William Leslie Pickett and Bessie Lee Hendrix Pickett. Her husband Wendell Sherbert, grandson Colin Sherbert whom she loved so dearly. One brother J.D. (Buck) Pickett, three sisters: Avalene Townsend, Annie Ruth Jackson Blassingame, and Susie Elmore.
She is survived by her son Mike Sherbert (Karen), her brother Gene Pickett, one granddaughter, Kayla Sherbert, step grandson Bob Alred, step granddaughter Kim Covarrubia and two great grandchildren, Ben Covarrubia and Alie Covarrubia, several nieces and nephews.
Yvonne was a retired project secretary from NASA.
