FLORENCE-The Young Learners Series is returning to the Florence Indian Mound Museum for another year of programming. The Museum is hosting a series of children’s programs where students can explore the early history of the Shoals through short lessons and hands-on learning exercises. The programs will explore 12 Native American figures through their biographies, contributions, hopes, and accomplishments. Each program will have a creative component with hands-on learning, and all events are free.
Programs will take place at the Florence Indian Mound Museum on the third Saturday of each month at 10am. Students will receive a passport of the 12 different programs, and prizes will be awarded to students who collect 8, 10, and 12 stamps throughout the year. Programs are suitable for learners ages 6-12. Some programs will require students to be outside. Registration is recommended: https://www.florencealmuseums. com/young-learners.
