Woman Arrested And Charged With Fraudulent Use Of Credit Card

DECATUR-A son filed a report on behalf of his father resulting in the arrest of one person on charges of the fraudulent use of a credit card.  Here is how the Decatur Police describe the arrest:

“SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
On October 28th, 2014, Kevin Kenney filed a report with the Decatur Police Department on behalf of his elderly father, Joe Kenney. The report was in reference to the fraudulent use of Joe’s credit card.
Of the fraudulent transactions reported, one occurred at Walgreen’s and another at Kangaroo Express, both located on 6th Avenue in Decatur.
Video footage of those transactions was obtained and used to develop Sonya Cottingham as the suspect. At the time of the transactions, Cottingham was employed as Joe’s caregiver.
Two arrest warrants for the fraudulent use of a credit card were obtained against Cottingham. On 1/06/2015, Cottingham was located by Ofc. Penuelas and placed under arrest.
Cottingham was booked in the city jail and later transferred to the Morgan County Jail on a $5,000 bond.”
