Wm. Ford (Red) Lindsey, age 94, beloved husband and father passed away at home on Thursday, April 9, 2015. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. He was retired from Reynolds Metal Company.
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon today at Morrison’s Funeral Home in Tuscumbia, Alabama. The funeral service will follow at noon in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Greg Beasley and Brother Ted Vafeas officiating. Burial will be in Franklin Memory Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Mae Lindsey, brother, Fate Lindsey, and sister, Emma Stutts.
He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty Lindsey; two daughters, Linda Lindsey and Carol Aday and husband, Lee, of Tuscumbia; two grandchildren; and four great- grandchildren; and sisters, Pauline Wood, Russellville Alabama, and Mary Elta Draper, Decatur, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be Don Bradford, Steve Houston, Rickey Posey, Johnny Nixon, Ray Counts, and Wayne Jeffreys. Honorary pallbearers will be Guinn Sparks, Doug McDonald, Kenneth Rhoden, Ken Patterson, and Justin Hollis.
The family wishes to express our gratitude to the nurses and staff of Gentiva Home Health Care, Gentiva Hospice, and the Volunteer Littleville Fire and Rescue Department for the loving care and support they gave. Also, we want to give a special thank you to our friend and caregiver Margie Vandiver.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Valley Grove Baptist Church building fund, 3040 Old Hwy 20 Tuscumbia, AL 35674.
