NORTH ALABAMA-The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for North Alabama.  Freezing rain, sleet and snow in the forecast.  Here is the advisory:

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM CST MONDAY…
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN HUNTSVILLE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR A MIXTURE OF FREEZING RAIN… SLEET… AND SNOW… WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 9 AM CST MONDAY.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED… RAIN WILL GRADUALLY TRANSITION TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN BY 10 PM TONIGHT ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHERN ALABAMA AND SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE. AREAS NORTH OF THE TENNESSEE RIVER WILL ALSO HAVE LIGHT SNOW… SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.
* ACCUMULATIONS… LIGHT SLEET AND SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO HALF AN INCH AND LIGHT FREEZING RAIN ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO A TENTH OF AN INCH.

* IMPACTS… TRAVEL WILL LIKELY BE IMPACTED IN SOME LOCATIONS BY THIS WINTER WEATHER EVENT. BRIDGES… OVERPASSES AND SECONDARY ROADS WILL BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS. EVEN MINOR FREEZING RAIN… SLEET… AND SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL CAUSE SLICK TRAVEL DUE TO TEMPERATURES REMAINING BELOW FREEZING THROUGH MID MORNING ON MONDAY.
