Winford ONeal Dutton, age 79, passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Alabama.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, September 26, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Meek and Bro. Jeremy Meetz officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM at the chapel. Mr. Dutton will be laid to rest in Decatur City Cemetery in Decatur, Alabama following the service.
Mr. Dutton was born in Lawrence County, Alabama on May 17, 1945. He was one of eleven children born to Earnest Ralph and Maggie Lee Dutton. He was a member of Parkview Baptist Church for 42 years. He served in the Alabama Army National Guard from 1965 until 1971. He was a Mechanic by trade for B.P. Amoco and worked for Amoco Chemical from 1968 until 1999. Winford was also a licensed Realtor for 40 years. He lived life to the fullest and found joy in spending time with his family and friends.
Mr. Dutton was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Ruel, Leon, Roy, Dewey, and Wendell Dutton; and two sisters, Helen Dutton and Mary Roberts.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Betty Kerby Dutton; son, Jason (Alyssa) Dutton; grandchildren, Jackson and Lily Dutton; brother, Price Orben (Linda) Dutton, and sisters, Daphene Westmoreland and Dot (Wendell) Sandlin.
