Windelyn “Windy” Murphy Carter, 89, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at his home. He was born December 13, 1934 to the late Andrew Carter and the late Beulah Price Carter in Georgia. He retired from American Motors after 28 years of service and enjoyed working on vehicles, being outside, reading, and spending time with his family. Windy was veteran of the US Army, where he was stationed in Japan.
No public services will be held.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Connie Carter of Tremont; step sons, Buford Ray Wooten, Jr. of Vancleave, Christopher Wayne (Ashley) Wooten of Booneville, and Patrick Elliot (Jamie) Fullerton of Tupelo; 6 grandchildren; sister, Annie Ruth Hamm of Dorsey; host of nieces and nephews; best friend, Jerry Grady of Tremont; and sister in law, Bonnie (John) Boldt of Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Beulah Carter; brothers in law, Harvey and Rex Hamm.
