Mr. Wilson Fly, age 73, a resident of the Fly Community in Santa Fe, and owner of the Fly General Store, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at his residence.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Maury County, Wilson was born in the Fly Community on December 29, 1948, and was the son of the late B.G. Fly and the late Bessie Pearl Kelley Fly. He was a 1969 graduate of Santa Fe High School. Wilson enjoyed deer hunting and won numerous archery competitions. He loved hosting arrowhead knapping and arts and craft shows at the Fly General Store every year. He was well-liked in the community and will be missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his brother, David Fly of Columbia, sister-in-law, Wanda Fly of Santa Fe, niece, Betsy Fly of Santa Fe, and nephew, Ben Fly of Santa Fe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene Fly and Harold Fly.
