FLORENCE – Traffic across Wilson Dam on South Cox Creek Parkway/North Wilson Dam Road near Florence will remain closed to car and pedestrian traffic through July 30. The road was scheduled to open on July 25, but additional time is needed to complete a health check of the dam.
A complete closure is necessary for the safety of motorists, pedestrians and maintenance crews. TVA appreciates the public’s understanding and asks pedestrians to not cross any posted barricade or caution tape.
In the event of bad weather, the work may be extended or rescheduled. Signs will be placed on both sides of the bridge and gates will be in place.
