MUSCLE SHOALS-Due to the expected freezing temperatures, TVA is closing the Wilson Dam Road today at 2:00 PM CT. The freeze along with spilling water can ice the bridge – causing a hazardous road condition.
As a result, the roadway will remain closed until April 29th to support our work at the new Reservation Switchyard. Our transmission team will be installing new overhead power lines from the dam to the new switchyard. Closing the road while we work will ensure public safety as we string overhead lines. Closing the roadway, reduces the amount vehicular traffic to a manageable size for the transmission crew to flag as needed. Fleet Harbor boat ramp will remain open.
