Wilmer Ervin Maddox – Obituary

wilmerWilmer Ervin Maddox, 83, of Muscle Shoals, died Saturday, July 25, 2015. The visitation will be Monday, July 27, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Woodward Avenue Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with pastor, Dr. William Rushing officiating and Dr. Timothy Seal assisting. Interment will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, Florence, AL.

Mr. Maddox is a native of Tuscumbia, AL and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was also a member of Woodward Avenue Baptist Church and retired personnel manager from Robbins Tire & Rubber Co. after 43 years of service. He is preceded in death by parents, Chester and William Maddox; son, Michael Maddox; brothers, Harold and Raymond Maddox; sisters, Earlene Azbell, Ruth Richardson, Freida Lambert.

He is survived by loving wife of 58 years, Mable Maddox; son, David Maddox; daughters, Sanrea Seal and Janet Jones; grandchildren, Joel Maddox, Tasha Hayes, Crissy Berry, Zachary Seal, Mackenzie Seal, Dr. Patrick Montgomery; great-grandchildren, Marlee and Oliver Maddox, Kennedy, Judah and Levi Sledge, Colson Berry and Miriam Montgomery.

Pallbearers will be Brian Berry, James Hollander, Joel Maddox, Dr. Patrick Montgomery, Zachary Seal and Teddy Whitlock.

A special thanks to Dr. Jack McClendon for his prayers, friendship and medical leadership during these very difficult days. The family also thanks the medical staff of Helen Keller Memorial Hospital, Keller Hospice and J.W. Sommer Rehabilitation Center, whose love and support was invaluable.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Woodward Avenue Baptist Church.
