Wilma Joyce Butler Holmes – Obituary

wilmaWilma Joyce Butler Holmes was born October 15, 1940 in McNairy County, TN, the daughter of the late Hubert Lee Butler and Mollie D. Malone Butler.

Miss Holmes graduated from Ramer High School in 1958 where she enjoyed playing basketball. At her church, Ridgeway Baptist, she coached basketball. She was a wonderful seamstress, often making clothes for her children. She owned Joys of Tupelo, a ladies clothing store in Tupelo Mississippi.

Miss Holmes departed this life on July 19, 2013 in Bartlett, Tennessee at the age of 72 Years, 9 Months, 4 Days. She is survived by two daughters, Jacque Brill and husband Colin, Rae Chappell and husband Brandon all of Memphis, TN; a grandson, Morgan Ballard of Memphis, TN; a sister, Mildred Butler Warren and husband Terry of Bartlett, TN; a brother, Junior Butler and wife Barbara of Corinth, MS; and a host of extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Miss Holmes was preceded in death by two brothers, Vester Butler and James “Pete” Butler.
