Wilma Faye Collier, age 76, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born October 20, 1946 in Tupelo to John and Maude Wilder Frost. Wilma worked as a seamstress in the furniture industry, retiring from Superior Products. She was a member of Longview Baptist Church. Wilma enjoyed a simple life which she lived to the fullest. She enjoyed a great cup of coffee and listening to her favorite musicians, Percy Sledge and Otis Redding, and you might catch her dancing in the kitchen. However, her greatest joy came from the moments she spent with her family, especially her sister, Edith, who took care of Wilma in her final days.
Wilma leaves behind to cherish her memory three children, Kelli Herrington, Carey Collier (Teresa), and Andrea Taylor (John Chamblee); four grandchildren, Bobby Robinson (Brandie), Brigitte Chrestman (David), Heather Harmon (Kyle), and Shea Taylor; six great-grandchildren, Jacob Robinson, Andrew Robinson, Mackenzie Smith, Brendan Chrestman, Clay Chrestman, and Hadley Harmon; her great-great-grandson, Judd Cooper Robinson; and three sisters, Sara Smith, Edith McKissack, and Bobbie Frost.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Rufus Frost, and a sister, Pebble Ewing.
Visitation will be 12 until 2 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2023 at Pegues, Tupelo. Services honoring Wilma’s memory will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Kerry Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Longview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mark Collier, David Chrestman, John Chamblee, Doug Ewing, Donnie Ewing, Chuck Smith, Robert McKissack, and Phil Rogers.
