Mr. Willus Cantrell Roberts age 103 of McMinnville, TN, (Lucky Community) died Friday, October 01, 2021, at his residence. He was born August 17, 1918, in Sparta, TN, was a retired bull dozer worker, operated a grocery store at Shiny Rock, and a cattle farmer. Mr. Roberts was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps serving his country in the military as a Master Sergeant Crew Chief and he was a member of Bybee Branch Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents William Herman and Constance Cantrell Roberts and his sister Maureen Brewer.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years Edith Bratcher Roberts, children Melba (Glenn) Gentry and David (JoAnn) Roberts, grandchildren Matthew Roberts and Megan (Kyle) Hewitt, great grandchild Gracen Hewitt, several cousins, and many friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 05, 2021, at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Randall Gann will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Military grave rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 173 and V.F.W. Post 5064. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at McMinnville Funeral Home.
