Willodyne Odom, age 86, passed away surrounded by family at her home in Mount Pleasant Thursday, May 27, 2021. Willodyne was born November 15, 1934, in Mount Pleasant, TN to the late Lester and Gladys Alexander Brown.
Willodyne is a lifelong resident of Mount Pleasant. As was common during that time, Willodyne left school to begin working at a young age. For many years she worked at the shirt factory Southeastern as a Turner. When Willodyne wasn’t working she delighted in traveling to mountains and watching the leaves change in the fall, often singing along to country or gospel on the ride over. Willodyne also enjoyed the excitement of going down to Tunica and playing the slot machines. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. Willodyne was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She was present for the birth of every grandchild that she was physically able to, which was nearly everyone. Willodyne is deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
Willodyne is survived by her children: Deborah Myers, Mike Finley, Lester (Nancy) Finley, Cathy (Ray) Odom, and Randy Finley; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren; sister Judy (James) Boshers; and sister-in-law: Kathy Brown. Willodyne is preceded in death by her sister Lucille Estes and brothers James and Johnny Brown.
The family will visit friends Friday, May 28, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. May 28, 2021, with Burial to follow at Freedom Cemetery in Summertown, Tennessee.
Pallbearers will be: Ben Burleson, Brett Burleson, Peyton Finley, Tyler Finley, C.J. Foster, Coleton Foster, Brennon Finley, Matthew Scott, and Weston Finley.
