  Willodean Newborn Wright Profile PhotoWillodean Newborn Wright was born January 22, 1937 in Collinwood, TN the daughter of the late Leonard C. and Lillie Ellen Ayers Newborn. She was united in marriage to Grady Lee Wright on January 7, 1961 and he preceded her in death on June 27, 2012. Willodean worked for many years at Angelica Manufacturing Company where she was a seamstress. She was a member of the Cromwell Crossroads Church in Collinwood, TN. In her spare time, Willodean enjoyed sewing, cooking, quilting, and spending time with her family. Some of her most favorite times were singing the gospel with her family in the group, Cromwell Crossroad Singers and they would travel many local churches and nursing homes. Willodean departed this life on June 15, 2024 in Collinwood, TN, at her home, at the age of 87 years, 4 months, and 24 days.

 She is survived by son, Terry Wright of Collinwood, TN; daughters, Teresa Marshall (Steve) of Murfreesboro, TN, and Tammy Springer (David) of Florence, AL; sister, Wanda Eaton of Collinwood, TN; sister-in-law, Linda Newborn of Collinwood, TN; grandchildren, Ashley Rogers (Robert), Ryan Marshall, and Austin Littleton; step-grandchildren, Hope Springer, and Isaac Springer; and step-great grandchild, Levi Springer.

In addition to her husband and parents, Willodean is preceded in death by brother, Jimmy Newborn; sister, Imogene Sherrill (Joel); brother-in-law, Charles Eaton; and nephew, Harold Sherrill.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Collinwood, TN with Greg Eaton and Camryn Eaton officiating. Burial will follow in Cromwell Crossroads Cemetery in Collinwood, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.
