Willis (Buddy) Euin Simmons, 83, of Hazel Green, Alabama went to be with the Lord on Tuesday night. at his residence. Funeral services will be held Friday 1 PM at Hazel Green Funeral Home with Bro. Ollie Taylor, Bro. Buddy Payne and Rev. Jerry Hovis officiating and burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Buddy was preceded in death by his parents, Buddie and Bessie Simmons, his brothers, James Henry Simmons and Paul W. Simmons, and his sisters Lizzie Drake, Maudie Mae O’Dell, Ora Bell Gray, Bernice Medlen, and Marie Vickers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janie Warden Simmons, daughter Wendy Simmons Gordon (Charlie), sons Jeff Simmons (Kathy) and Clint Simmons (Misty). Grandchildren, Jenny Smith (Jason), Brittany Ferguson, Alysha Martin (Jarquis), Anna Rose Simmons, Charles Willis (Will) Gordon, Mary Jane Gordon, and Allie Grace Simmons. Great-grandchildren, Luke and Madison Ferguson, Emma and Bella Smith, Jayce and Jagger Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Riverton High School and retired from PPG Industries after 34 years. He enjoyed farming, gardening and spending time with his family.
