Willie Ruth Bishop, 79 of Baileyton passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Woodland Health Care. She was born May 7, 1945, the daughter of Charles David Newman and Carnel Mae King Newman. She was married to Wayne Bishop who passed away March 7, 2012.
She is survived by her son: Joey Bishop (Jennifer); granddaughters: Brylee and Alivia; sister: Jenney Haswell Thompson; brother: Grafton Newman; host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Wayne Bishop; parents: Charles and Carnel Mae Newman; siblings: Alan Newman, Aubrey Newman, Nathan “Coon” Newman, Monetha Jarvis, Carolyn Newman, Barbara Newman and Judith Newman.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2024, at Gober Funeral Chapel. The burial will be in West Point Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
