Mr. Willie Raymond Creel, age 93, of Shannon, MS, passed away Sunday, November 3, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Mr. Creel was born February 9, 1931, in Geneva, AL, to the late Ervin and Claudie Crews Creel. He worked in the cotton mill, and was married to the late Mamie Johnson Creel. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Franklyn Creel, D.C. Creel, and Junior Creel; his step-daughter, Brenda Johnson Terrell; and two step-granddaughters, Danielle King and Kesha Thomas.
Funeral services will be Saturday, November 9, at 1:30 PM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Liberty Missionary Baptist Cemetery in Detroit. Visitation will be 12:00-1:30 prior to the service.
Survivors include two sons, Buddy (Karen) Creel of Shannon, MS and Raymond Creel of Geneva, AL; two daughters, Janey (Dennis) Sullivan of Tampa, FL and Jonna Creel of Geneva, AL; one step-son, Benny Johnson; four step-daughters, Carolyn (William) Dodd, June (Lyman) Moon, Martha (Terry) Wilson, and Mary (David) Farr; one brother, Ronnie Creel; two sisters, Jimmie Smith and Joyce Featherstone; his grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; eight step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandson.
