Mrs. Willie “Magrette” Young, age 88, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at Heritage Place in Lexington. She was born September 24, 1935 in Blue Goose to the late George W. and Lena Hale Cogdell. She was retired from Johnson Controls and a member of Sand Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. John William Young; four brothers, John Henry, George, Frank, and R. D. Cogdell; and five sisters, Clara Daniel, Dorothy Gurley, Flossie Todd, Virginia Todd, and Evelyn “Pat” Scott. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services are scheduled for 3 PM, Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, 5 – 8 PM at Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington.
