Willie Albert Freeman

Minister Willie Albert Freeman was born on May 7, 1942, in Colbert County to the late Gernese Bailey Freeman and Albert Freeman. He accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Olievia Missionary Baptist Church in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Willie was educated at Leighton Training School and earned his high school diploma in 1961. After graduating, he joined the United States Army, and upon his discharge, he completed an apprenticeship as an ironworker. He then worked and retired from Reynolds Metals Company as an Iron Worker. He also served as an associate minister at Gospel Truth Church in Sheffield, Alabama.

Willie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Fannie Freeman; his mother, Gernese Freeman; his father, Albert Freeman; and his brother, Cleona (Nip) Freeman.

Willie departed this life on October 29, 2024.

He leaves behind cherished memories with his three daughters, Crystal Freeman, Athena Freeman, and Alane Patterson; his son, Terrence Freeman; his grandson, Jordan Patterson; his brother, Thomas Freeman; and his sister, Juanita (Jay) Pennywell of Houston, Texas. Additionally, he is survived by his sisters-in-law, Pearline (Ron) Talley and Amor Carter; his brother-in-law, George (Saundra) Carter; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and a host of family and friends.
