Eldridge Siniard, lovingly known as “Papaw” and “Wah Wah,” passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the age of 81. Born on July 23, 1943, Eldridge lived a life full of warmth, humor, and kindness, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
A man of great character and quiet strength, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he poured his heart into creating a home filled with laughter, wisdom, and unconditional support.
To his grandchildren, he was not only a role model but a source of endless joy, earning his affectionate nicknames through years of shared adventures and inside jokes.
He had a gift for making everyone feel special through his memories and heartfelt stories. He graduated from West Limestone High School in 1961. He retired from Dunlop Tire Corporation after 32 years of dedication.
He enjoyed reminiscing about memories and visiting his homeplace in Goodspring, AL.
He loved gardening and watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren learn and grow and in his younger years, he enjoyed raising cattle and taking his bird dogs to field trials. His life was a testament to the simple yet profound values of love, gratitude and friendships.
Eldridge was preceded in death by his parents, Jess Willard and Vona Inez Siniard, brother, Barry Siniard and brother in law, Paul Tennison.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jane Siniard, daughter-Tanjie Siniard (Randy Mumpower), son-Torey Siniard (Sheena), granddaughter-Kala Moss, grandsons-Alex Gordon, Seth Siniard (Grace), and Zac King, great grandchildren- Bryson Bruder, Cayden Gordon, Jaxson Gordon, Leighton Siniard, Brock Moss, and Lofton Siniard, sister-Betty Tennison, sister in law-Rachelle Siniard, nephews-Tim Tennison and Jason Siniard, nieces-Pam McKelvey and Cindy Hamlin and extended family and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.
A visitation with friends and family will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Limestone Chapel in Athens beginning at 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm with a service at 2:00 pm. officiated by Terry Lamar. A burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery (Goodspring).
Eldridge’s wit and gentle spirit will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the lives of all who were blessed to know him.
Pallbearers will be: Torey Siniard, Randy Mumpower, Seth Siniard, Zac King, Bryson Bruder, Cayden Gordon, Leighton Siniard, Jaxson Gordon, Brock Moss and Lofton Siniard.
