William Thomas Wooley, Jr. entered his heavenly home on March 23, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family, at the age of 77.
Mr. Wooley was born on July 7, 1944, in Jackson, TN, the son of the late William Thomas Wooley, Sr. and Ollie Beatrice Nicholson Wooley. He was a graduate of Southside High School and was a retired service technician employed for 33 years with Otis Elevator Company. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of Al Chymia Shrine Temple in Memphis, TN. William was an avid fan of NASCAR having attended many racing events. He was also a member of the Magic Valley Airforce, where he enjoyed piloting some of his “Pride and Joy” remote control airplanes.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Andrew Wooley on March 1, 2022; his brothers, William R. Wooley, Franklin D. Wooley, James T. Wooley, Russell W. Wooley, and Robert G. Wooley; and sisters, Voncel Atnip and Christine Merritt.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Miller Wooley of Henderson, TN; his son Steven Brian Wooley and his wife Frances of Jackson, TN; daughter, Emily Michelle Shanks and husband Morris of Jackson, TN; and grandchildren, Savannah Grace Jones, Tristan Gage Morris, and Zada Forsha.
SERVICE: A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 26, 2022, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors, with Rev. John Gator of First Baptist Church of Bemis, officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Ridgecrest Cemetery.
Visitation with the family and friends will be held from 12:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM at Arrington Funeral Directors.
Pallbearers to serve are Jerry Scott, Robert Wooley, Jacob Wooley, Keith Hatchett, Morris Shanks, and Mike Bates.
