William Thomas "Tommy" Dunn William Thomas “Tommy or Bubba” Dunn, 74, died Friday, August 14, 2020 from complications of COVID-19.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Morrow Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Tommy was born on September 28,1945 to Thomas F. and Virginia Brewer Dunn. He was 1963 graduate of Culleoka High School. He was employed by Monsanto until 1989, then worked at Cytec in Mt. Pleasant until his retirement in 2007. Mr. Dunn was a member of South Point Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Linda Blocker Dunn; children, Rick (Heather) Dunn; Bryan (Laura) Dunn; son by marriage, Eric Borchert; and Grump to, Ricky Dunn, John William Dunn, Savannah Dunn, Melynda Borchert; and by marriage, granddaughter, Haley Jones; two very special nieces that he loved and treated as his own, Virginia Kay (Josh) Jones; Miranda Harmon; Grump to their children, Kaylee and Tyler Jones; Russell and Riley Thompson; Regan and Ryan Harmon; sister, Charlotte Davis; mother-in-law, Faye Blocker; and very special family members, Norma Kelley, Donna Wisener, Lisa (Phillip) Evers and their families; and several other nieces and nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughter, Cheryl Borchert in 2008; and sister, Brenda Dunn Gaskill.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Blocker, Josh Jones, Billy Carroll, Jr., Terry Thomason, Doug Sims, Comer Brewer, and Alvin Morrow. Honorary pallbearers include member of South Point Church of Christ, retirees of Monsanto and Cytec Employees.

The family would like to express a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Maura Lipp at Maury Regional Medical Center, along with Missy Morrow and Talitha Harris. Thank you to everyone who checked on him daily and offered up many prayers on his behalf.

We the family, acknowledge that with COVID-19 being as it is, that many people do not feel safe being in this situation. We want everyone to know that we fully understand your decision.
