William Thomas “Tommy” Nash, 79, of Athens passed away Nov. 2, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Jan. 11, 1943 in Athens to Jim and Lila Goode Nash.

A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Dement Cemetery with Rogersville Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Gabe Butler, Patrick Wynn, Dagen Nash, Aubrey Nash, John Stinson & Stephen Darracott. Honorary pallbearers are Ricky Motter, Keith Butler, Avery Nash, Lathan Darracoott, Cain Darracott & James Grossheim.

Tommy loved his family and his Rose Trail friends dearly.

He was an avid fisherman and sports fan, especially the Alabama Crimson Tide. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having earned two bronze stars with valor for his service in Vietnam.

Mr. Nash is survived by his wife, Yen Dinh of Athens; two sisters, Jewel Johnson (Leon) of Athens and Ruth Butler of Athens; two sons, Micah Nash (Deborah) of Rogersville and Matthew Nash (Kristy) of Athens; one daughter, Manda Wisniewski of Killen; grandchildren, Dagen Nash (Katie), Aundrea Darracott (Stephen), Bonnie Stinson (John), Patrick Wynn (Ashley), Elena Wisniewski, Lelia Wisniewski, Aubrey Nash (Jessica), Justina Palmer (TJ) and Jocelyn Turner (Chaz); great-grandchildren, Raven Grossheim (James), Ryley Stinson, Avery Nash, Kinley Wynn, Lathan Darracoott, Cain Darracott, Alexa Darracott, Kirklyn Wynn, Kamryn Wynn, Emery Nash, Magnolia Wilder Nash, Bennett William Nash, Willow Ann Nash, Laurel Turner, Lennon Turner, Eleanor Turner and Cayden Palmer; and one great-great grandchild, Emmitt Grossheim.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lila Nash; brothers: RC (Ethel), Orvil (Willie), Bill, Johnny (Ann); sisters: Christine Biggs (Joe), Ethel Motter (Samuel), Geneva Pack (Carl), Edna Downs (Talmadge).

Forty-one nieces and nephews: Douglas Stewart, Martha Alexander, Judy Todd, Vicki Griggs, Debbie Nash Gilliam, Bobby Nash, Patsy Nash, Jimmy Nash, Paul Nash, Nancy Nash Brumitt, Beverly Chmura, Lisa Tamsen, Dawn Nash, Billy Wayne Nash, Judy Taylor, Jeff Nash, Johnny Ray Nash, Ronnie Nash, Bobbi Jo Nash, Jo Ann Nash, Pam Nash Clark, Tanjie Nash, Peggy Wilson, Carolyn Bruno, LaVerle Motter, Jimmie Dale Ezell, Sue Marbut, Ricky Motter, Ronnie Motter, Jeannie Heline, Gerald Wayne Pack, Joan Smith, Libby Gatlin, Wade Downs, Terry Downs, Keith Butler, Belinda Butler, Gabe Butler, Micah Nash, Manda Wisniewski and Matthew Nash.
