William Thomas Reatherford, 86, of Florence passed from this life on Friday, November 8, 2013. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m. on Sunday at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Bro. Greg Woodall officiating. The eulogy will be given by Reba Spoellings. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Reatherford attended Florence First Assembly of God for over 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and bluegrass gospel music. He was a knitter at Sweetwater mill, Genesco for 26 years and later retired from Tee Jays manufacturing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Juanita Wilbanks Reatherford; son, Mike Reatherford (Angela) of Florence; daughters, Theresa Pugh (Gary) of Trinity; and Cathy Gifford (Steve) of Florence; two granddaughters, Robin Reatherford Davis (Brandon) of Killen and Stephanie Gist Evers (Kevin) of Florence; three great-grandchildren, Will Evers, Brinlea Davis and Piper Davis; and foster nephew and special helper, Jerry Anders Darby of Florence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Cordia Staggs Reatherford and an infant son, Danny Reatherford.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Davis, Kevin Evers, Ronnie Wiley, Byron McDougal, Steve Gist and Donnie Reatherford. Honorary pallbearer will be his best friend, James “Rooster” Fuller.
