Bill was born July 15, 1933 to the late William York and Mary Louise Crabb Binkley. He was a graduate of Giles County High School and Middle Tennessee State University. He married Shirley Fay Benderman, who passed away in 2016, and he served as a Corpsman in the United States Navy at Camp Pendleton from 1953 until 1957. Bill was a Song Leader at various Churches of Christ, including his “Home” Church, Puncheon Church of Christ, near Minor Hill. He spent his career with the Tennessee Department of Health, serving as the Public Health Director for Maury and Lawrence Counties.
Graveside Services with Navy Honors will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Maplewood Cemetery in Pulaski, Tennessee, with Kase Britton officiating.
Survivors include his daughter, Betty Lovelace and husband Mike of Germantown, TN, his sons, Taylor Binkley and wife Debra of Christiana, TN and Forrest Binkley of Minor Hill, his grandchildren, Bo Swindle, Ben Binkley and wife Samantha, and Sarah Binkley, and his great grandchildren, Annabelle, Carter, Ellanora, and
Aniston.
