William Sebron Lassiter, Jr., age 80 of Jackson, passed away on April 15, 2021 in Jackson.
He was born in Jackson and was raised in the Bemis area. He graduated from South Side High School and took night studies at Jackson State in Transportation. Sebron worked at Conalco for many years and retired from Averitt Express after 35 years. He was a member of Madison Baptist Church and served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. He was Treasurer and Past President of the Madison Hall Community Club.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary Evelyn Lassiter; daughter, Leanne Warren; son, Chris Lassiter (Rhonda); five grandchildren and five great grandchildren and with another due in July; his sister, Judy Mitchell (Charles) of Ecru, MS; and many cousins and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Birdo Lassiter and great grandson, Lane Alan Tackett. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 19, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m. in the South Chapel of George A. Smith and Sons. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Bro. Greg Gilbreath officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers to serve will be Martin McDaniel, William “Will” Warren, Aaron Warren, William “Bubba” McCommon, Harold Vann, and Ronnie Robison.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Webb, David Baker, Bryan Tackett and the Deacons of Madison Baptist Church. The family requests memorials be directed to Madison Baptist Church or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
