William Scott Rollins departed this life unexpectedly from Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN on Friday, June 28, 2024. He was 42. Born in Amory on March 3, l982 to William Gerald Rollins and Judy Gaddy Patton, he spent the first few years of his life in the Wren Community in Monroe Co. He later lived 7 years in Amory before settling in the Belden area. Scott graduated from Saltillo High School and was employed by Mueller Brass in Fulton at the time of his death. A man of many creative talents, he was blessed with an incredible ability to work with his hands- carving, woodworking and “fixing” things. A great admirer of God’s creation, Scott loved being outdoors fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his family and was an encouragement and inspiration to his nieces, nephews and his fiancé’s children whom he admired. A member of the Sherman Church of Christ, Scott loved the Lord, reading his word and living a life that was modeled in the Golden Rule. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.

A service to celebrate his life was held at 2 PM Sunday, June 30, 2024 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with his Uncle Carl Gaddy speaking. Burial followed in Wren Cemetery. Visitation was from Noon-service time on Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers were Daniel Bethay, Joe Peebles, Matt Bethay, Will Bethay, David Bethay, and Brock Brown.

He is survived by his mother, Judy Patton of Belden; two sisters, Tina Rollins Bethay and her husband, Daniel of Fulton, MS and Regina Rollins Peebles and her husband, Joe of Olive Branch, MS; fiancé, Brandi Payne of Belden and her three sons Hunter, TJ, and Gabe whom he loved as his own; nieces and nephews, Matt Bethay of Littleton, CO, Will Bethay of Fulton, David Bethay of Fulton, Katie Bethay of Belvidere, IL, Lillie Bethay of Fulton, John Peebles of Little Rock, AR, Patrick Peebles and his wife, Kelly of Washington, DC, and Christopher Peebles of Little Rock; great nieces and nephews, Dixie Grace Bethay of Littleton, CO, Jordyn Peebles of England, AR, Jadon Peebles of England, AR, Alex Peebles of Linn Creek, MO, and Andrew Peebles of Linn Creek, MO; grandmother, Gena Lee Gaddy of Fulton; aunts and uncles, Carl Gaddy and his wife, Diane of Fulton, Frank Gaddy and his wife, Phyllis of Amory, MS, Micki Gaddy Brown of Fulton, Cherie Bennett of Mantachie, MS, and Ruby Rollins of Fulton; several cousins, and two stepsisters, Patsy Archie and Lindsey Bowen of Nettleton, MS.

He was preceded in death by his daddy, William Gerald Rollins; his bonus dad, Patrick “Papaw Pat” Patton; his grandparents, Eulis “Smooth” Gaddy, Wilson Rollins, and Ruby Rollins; and his aunts and uncles, Teresa Gaddy, James Rollins, Wilbur Rollins, Harvey Rollins, Gary Rollins, Danny Rollins, and Rosie Dunahue.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
